AIR VENTILATION UNITS - AIR VENTILATION UNITS FOR HOMES

New England Basmenet Specialites installs air ventilation units in homes that are cost-efficient, low-maintenance solutions to expel moisture and improve indoor air quality.

Air Ventilation Units deliver cleaner, healthier air and are the solution for:

  • Musty Wet Basements & Musty Wet Crawlspaces

Many families avoid the basement because they are damp & musty. Air Ventilation Units help convert unpleasant basements into comfortable livable space.

  • Excess Moisture in the Home

Not only is high humidity uncomfortable – it is damaging to your home. Condensation on windows, darkened sills, wood rot, saturated drywall, and peeling paint are all due to excess moisture and are costly to repair.

  • Mold & Mildew Problems

Mold can not only create a dangerous living environment, more and more states require mold testing to be done before you can sell it. Reduction mold can save thousands of dollars in costly remediation.

  • Sick House Syndrome

All homes need to breathe. If air is not being circulated, contaminants get trapped inside, making your air unhealthy and unsafe. Pollen, dust mites, natural gases, such as radon, and byproducts from combustible appliances, cleaners, or chemical compounds – all of these are trapped inside the home, and inhaled by you.

The American Lung Association and EPA recognize three major strategies for reducing indoor air pollution:

  • Source control
  • Ventilation
  • Air cleaning

Air Ventilation Units tackle them all for noticeably cleaner and fresher indoor air.

Take what you already know about dehumidifiers and air purifiers—and then take it one step further: That’s where Air Ventilation System technology begins.
Unlike many other products, our Air Ventilation Systems are designed to rid the home of harmful moisture and humidity—not merely re-circulate moist, stale air.

The concept is simple: Since water is heavier than air, the moisture in the building or home gravitates to the lowest level.  Creating a slight pressure variance, an Air Ventilation System draws the damp and contaminated air down and out of the home at that level and vents it outside.  It then replenishes the contaminated air with fresh, dry air resulting in a complete air exchange up to 10 times each day.  The Air Ventilation Unit is usually equipped with a humidistat, which regulates airflow to achieve a desired level of humidity, providing continuous comfort and peace of mind, too.

Basement Dehumidifier Solutions

A basement is an area more prone to dampness than other rooms in your home, and because of this, you not only need to waterproof the area but use a basement dehumidifier as well.

In layman's terms, this apparatus reduces the ambient air's humidity and effectively reduces the likelihood of mold and fungal growth, which can be detrimental especially to people with allergies.

How a basement dehumidifier works

With the help of a fan, this machine passes moist air over a cold metal coil. In the process, the air loses its ability to hold moisture and the water that is extracted from the air is drained and collected into a catch basin. The "processed" air then passes through warm metal coils and released back into the basement.
